You use the Redefine dialog box to define a redefine component in an XML schema file. You use a redefine to redefine simple and complex types, groups, and attribute groups from an external schema.

The Redefine dialog box opens when you add a new redefine component. You can also open the Redefine dialog box by right-clicking a redefine node and choosing Customize from the pop-up menu.

• The title of the dialog box changes depending on the type of action you are performing:
  • Create a new schema component: Redefine
  • Modify an existing component: Redefine Customizer

This dialog box has the following field:

• Location. Lets you navigate to and select a schema file. You can search for files By File or By Namespace.
  
  • You can double-click a schema file node in the Location list to open that file in the Source Editor.
