1 ERTS highlights

This document gives an overview of the major changes and new functionality introduced in versions 4.7 to 4.7.x of the Erlang Runtime System (ERTS).

1.1 New features

• Sequential tracing is introduced (in alpha status) for the JAM system. See the reference manual for module seq_trace.
  
• Several enhancements conserning the bif open_port has been done.
  
• Several improvements and new features are introduced in erl_interface.
  
• The erlsrv program allows an erlang application to run as a system service on Windows NT.
